I use to take it easy into anime geared toward children, but even for children, this is awful.

I've watched stuff like Hamtaro or Magical Doremi and even without the grain of salt, they're decent enough. But this is the kind of stuff that hell is made of... If hell was a infinite street market of Hong-Kong class bootlegs and you're forced to walk past through it having money to buy stuff but not really wanting any and hoping of "Let it be a food stand around the corner, please" but never reaching it.

I mean, seriously. While having one of the better manga jobs by Peach-Pit (Rozen Maiden), the endorsement of TV Tokyo, backed up by an entire OST of Hello! Project on it's best period until it went to shit and beyond, and a space on one of the most watched brackets over the years which is the afternoon (4:00 PM to 6:00 PM), how you can fuck this up? SATELIGHT. The dudes behind "Symphogear" and other aberrations. Oh no...

Plot revolves around Amu Hinamori (CV: Kanae Ito) which is a school girl with social issues and no friends. One day she discovers not one, but three "Shugo Charas" (Soul eggs revealing her true identity, and of hopes and dreams of future) and shit. Eventually she's invited to join the most popular guys at school to use their powers to save other children's eggs. The Easter Company tries to snatch children's eggs to produce an "Embryo" which could grant wishes and stuff. but in the process it turns regular eggs into X eggs which are bad i guess, and it's up to Amu and her friends to save up the day. I seriously can't think of "How do you even fuck up a good show?". Amu gets 3 powers which are Ran, which is good at sports, Miki who's good at art and Su who's good at cooking.

First up, for a manga which adaptation needs to be at 24 episodes at much, it gets spanned around a shit ton of them. Character development is extremely slow and gets nowhere and most of them are just fucking cliché and one trick ponies that are dumb as fuck. Starting with Amu, her personality is the worst. While i've seen shit like Kotoko Irie from Playful Kiss being extremely triggering, Amu goes far beyond that point. Her love interests are the Prince-like Tadase (which in turn ends up being an asshole) and Ikuto (dark edgy prince of darkness... the hedgehog) and other dudes that i ain't gonna mention. Not counting Nadeshiko (which would wind up to be a nice gay relationship, quite a turn for a kodomo anime) being actually a dude raised as a girl. Other characters such as Kukai (mandatory sports jock) or Yaya (annoying as fuck, with a chara named Pepe) are flat as the street that i walk in.

While animation sorta works, the "quolity" moments aren't scarce at all. Coloring is dated, art style reminds me of old ass beatgame attempts of the early PlayStation era, but most character designs keeps you wondering "What kind of parents let their children dress up like that?". Although the series itself keeps you wondering most of the time "Why this is happening and who let this be true?"

Sound's nothing to write about home, CV picks are decent and well expressed but the lack of an BGM sometimes makes actors sound hollow. Openings were great, having the best picks from the top-notch H!P era, before Tsunku had to get brain cancer and screw everything up. Buono! is in charge of most of them, being one of the most known and loved units of all H!P time.

Why should you avoid this?: It's like instead of ordering a nice cup of warm coffee, you put the same coffee in a hundred cups, and fill them up with tap water and drinking it over a week. Of course, every cup is full price. It's like they didn't wanted 4Kids to adapt their anime for the US audience by doing it themselves. This anime it's a piece of crap. We do not want it in our beloved Africa, we don't wanna EET DA POO POO!!!
