Toaru Kagaku no Railgun is a great show to pass the time, am not going to slate the show that much, however, it did have many problems such as annoying/useless characters with next to no progression and the annoying plot line that had me shouting like the screen as if it was a pantomime shouting "He's behind you".

The main character Misaka is smart and amazingly overpowered with some great visual effects, her ability is limited to using electricity however she uses it in so many effective ways. Then we have Shirai the god annoying sidekick who does have an incredible ability and uses it to her advantage however at the same time her physical ability making no sense. In the first few episodes she gets knocked out by a card door, however, later can take multiple hits from mechs. Everyone else is effectively useless with no power and only help when the main characters are about to die and the only solution is "hit the computer".

The only great character is Touma, he is the urban legend of the story, he turns up when needed and 'makes the story great again', he isn't a character you can hate, he has such little screen time that it is depressing since he is one of the only interesting people mentioned in the show. With an insane ability to stop other abilities.

So what had me vexed with the story is how it repeats itself, the first 12 episodes are fine and then within the next 12 episodes you are thinking "I know who it's going to be" and its so obvious and it takes them till the 19th episode before they know who is behind it all. "Oh, it was you!"

I have yet to see Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S and have not read the manga so I am out of the blue, I really hope for the second season to be a little bit better. I want to see more action and less pointless filler episodes such as the arcade episode that made no sense. Nevertheless, this was still a good watch and rated it 7/10 if the story had a better flow and the other characters had more to them I would love to give this a higher rating.
